BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!

LOOK!!!! A STRANGE SIGHT!!! No children.....
Hear that?

Do you?

It is the sound of silence.

Thousands and thousands of children returned to school the other day, and for the first time in 3 months, I went to bed with out the sounds of children screaming and jumping on the roofs of parked cars as if they were bed bug infested mattresses. No stupid white hatch backs with GIANT sub woofers blasting the same crappy Latin techno. No.

I slept from 12 am, straight to 12 pm. I woke up all on my own.

I did not wake up because of children trying to climb up the fire escape, and I did not wake up to the sounds of kids throwing glass bottles at the side of the apartment. Nope.

I just woke up.

Finally.. September has come.
Enjoy it-- I am.

hey i'm liking your blog. i moved to inwood in april and while it's been a serious adjustment (read: noise, trash, noise) my husband and i love our renovated (cheap!) apartment. and you're right, it's gentrifying really quickly.

i like reading the reviews too, keep it up.

The neighborhood transforms into a quiet neighborhood once it gets cold. It gets quiet and less people out.

But Inwood is not a low income area hispanic mostly areas, East of Broadway is but like I said, West of Broadway is quieter, has a mix of white, spanish, etc. Professionals live in Park Terrace and Seaman.
I think you should venture arouni Park Terrace for a day and give a review

Park Terrace & Seaman is very nice, probably the nicest part of Inwood and the northern most peak of Manhattan. It has many art deco buildings & its been preserved very well. Of Course Inwood Hill Park is a plus and adds so much to the area with its views. Then you have Columbia University Baker's Field which also adds some significance. You also have kayack launch in the park, trails, baseball fields etc. The classic houses around the corner from Seaman that is also a gem. That store down by Seaman & 215th street in front of the park has also closed, that was a key store, they better not put a starbucks there. Its a great area to live, visit & take a stroll through.
